After the initial assessment is completed, we recommend 20-minute follow-up visits. We recommend follow-up visits every 2 to 4 weeks, though weekly follow-ups are available for those who need it and less frequent follow-ups are available for very stable patients who find the monthly follow-ups to be too much of a time commitment. Psychiatric services and the mental health journey is highly individualized. All patients have different needs. We work with you to create a plan for follow-up that fits into your schedule and enables you to feel safe and welcome in our Albuquerque psychiatry office.
Prior to your appointment, you will be sent an email with the appropriate intake forms. We ask that you fill out all of these forms and turn them in prior to scheduling your appointment.
Your initial appointment is 40 minutes. We will discuss your presenting problem as well as your past psychiatric and medical history. We will also discuss your goals for mental health treatment and then work together to develop a holistic treatment plan. This time is critical for establishing your mental wellness goals and individual therapy needs. We strive to offer a safe, comfortable space in which you never need to fear judgment. The more honest you can be, the more accurately we can identify, address, and treat your depression, anxiety, or other mental health condition. We believe in a highly personal approach to the transformative process of therapy and do our utmost to ensure that you feel heard and your needs are being met. This initial assessment often takes longer than the 40 minutes allotted and may require one or more 40 minute follow-up visits to complete.
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, cash, or check. If you pay by cash or check for your mental health services, you may be asked to place a card on file or provide a deposit for no-shows or late cancellations, which will be refunded to you at such time as you decide to terminate your psychiatric care with us.
We also offer an option to pay in four monthly installments through QuickFee for higher-cost depression, anxiety, and psychiatric treatments, such as a multiple-session initial assessment or interventional treatment. Seeking mental health treatment is a positive step towards achieving overall wellness and developing into a happier, healthier person. Our goal is to provide quality psychiatric services in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County and beyond for as many people as possible. Please call us or discuss at your visit if installments are needed.
Please see our standard fee schedule. Self-pay patients who pay for therapy and mental health services in advance for their appointment are offered a 30% discount. Additional discounts are offered for healthcare workers and on a case-by-case basis for financial need. Please feel free to reach out to Chrysalis Psychiatry directly with any questions regarding your specific insurance situation.
We are currently offering both in-person and video visits in our Albuquerque psychiatry office based on the needs and comfort level of the patient. We are doing our best to follow safe practices during in-person visits as well as complying with local ordinances. At this time, we are no longer requiring masks for in-person visits, but you are welcome to wear one if it makes you feel more comfortable. Staff are currently not required to wear masks, but are all fully vaccinated.
If you have had any symptoms of COVID such as fever, chills, cough, or loss of sense of taste or smell, we ask that you discuss with the provider or staff so that we can reschedule or move the appointment to video if necessary. If you know that you have recently been exposed to someone with COVID please let us know so that we can determine the appropriate action.
